2006: West Caribbean Cuise

Delta changed flight times and notified us of the return flight change, but not the departing flight from Detroit. We ended up missing the flight and had to split up to make it to Miami in time to meet the ship. Dad and Steven went though New York, and Mom and Krystal went through Atlanta. The adventure begins!

Day 1 - Welcome Aboard:
  • Arrived late morning and started exploring the ship right away.

Day 3 - Cozumel:
  • Sorry, nothing from day 2. Spent the day relaxing in the sun, exploring the ship some more, and hitting the pool. Arrived in Cozumel in the morning and hit the first tender boat to the shore.
  • Spent most of the day at the Dolphin Discovery.
  • Krystal also got her hair braided just before catching the last tender back to the ship.

Day 4 - Grand Cayman:
  • A little bit of a later morning, but still a full day. We went snorkeling in the late morning, ate lunch at Hard Rock Café, and then did some shopping. Yes, it was really that cloudy all day. In fact, it rained a bit while we were snorkeling. Hey, we were wet anyway!

Day 5 - Jamaica:
  • Another early morning. This was the only port where we were docked, which was very nice. No waiting for a tender boat to get on and off the ship.
  • Spent the morning horseback riding and then hit town. Steven wanted to get his hair braided too. No need to find shopping in Jamaica – it finds you!
  • Krystal was totally in her element on her horse.

Day 6 - Labadee, Haiti:
  • Rough weather from the night before pushed us back an hour, but we still got in a full day.
  • Took a tour on wave runners and then hit the beach for a while. Sorry, no pictures on the wave runners – couldn’t risk taking the camera. Those things were fast!

Back In Miami:
  • Pulled in to Miami around 6:00 am and waited for several hours to get off the ship. Normal, from what I hear.
  • Played around with the camera a bit in low light.

Various formal and other shots taken throughout the week.  Check out Krystal's hair after she took the braids out!
